Hi There! I’m Priya. It’s so nice to meet you!
I am a mom, step-mom, wife and designer. I work full-time as a Graphic Design Manager at a company named Roland DGA. We sell wide-format printers. I also get to do a lot of fun projects there, some of which I plan on sharing with you on this blog.
I am married to Sean who is a Solutions Development Manager, basically he helps people make their business function better. He is also my better half that happily goes along with all my crazy ideas and he is a really great at encouraging me, which, just encourages me to have more crazy ideas. He is also really technically savvy, so when I get stuck on this blog, he is there to help me and back me up. We got married the summer of 2016 and together we have four kids.
Jordan (14) and Logan (11) are the two on the left, they are Sean’s sons. Analiese (16) and Grant (14) on the right, are mine. Merging our families has been an experience. It’s taught us so many things and we learn something new every day. Mornings and dinner are definitely the most challenging for us. Trying to get 3 teenagers fed has been a learning experience!
We also have two dogs. Coco and Barkley. Coco’s also known as Jealousy and Destroyer of all Things – I’m sure her many antics will get her mentioned on the blog a lot. Barkley is just a sweet push-over with a really loud bark. He was actually named after Barkley on the Sesame Street, not after his bark.
Our house is full. Really full.
Fortunately or unfortunately I have a ton of things I enjoy and love to learn and explore more of.
Here are just a few things I love…
I love design. I have a degree in graphic design and love it more now than when I started. I knew from the time I was in 7th grade that I wanted to be a designer of some sort. I’ve not only worked in the field for a really long time, I have also taught at local universities and I work with students at portfolio reviews. I love teaching. I love teaching design in particular.
I am a DIY’er. I love making my own things. Learning how to sew or wield a hammer if the job calls for it. In my early twenties I realized that I didn’t have enough money to buy the nicer things that I wanted, so I learned to make them. From sewing slipcovers, to building tables, I enjoy making things for our house and for our family. I can’t wait to share with you some of the fun things that I hope will help you in your house.
I love to eat. Which means I really try to cook and bake good food. But I hate grocery shopping, the prep and the cleanup. So, the meals I try and make are easy and good. I’m also East Indian and come from an amazing family of great cooks. They are so great that I never felt the need to learn how to cook Indian food. Well, until I was an adult that is. I’m still learning, but thank goodness my mom is nearby and can teach me anything I need to know. I’ll be sharing a lot of those recipes here on the blog.
I’m a serial entrepreneur. I’ve owned a lot of businesses and worked in a lot of fields. I have owned an antiques business, sold hand-painted pottery, sewed purses for my own home boutiques, designed kitchens and baths, home interiors and commercial spaces, designed websites, created custom stationery for my own online business as well as sold in retail stores and now I work with so many things print related from tradeshows to packaging.
I love to travel. From local spots to far away countries I am excited to go out and see more. I’m planning the trip of a lifetime this summer with my family in India. The last time I was there was when I was 19 years old, so to see it as an adult and be with my family while doing it will be amazing.
Well, that’s about it for me. Feel free to contact me if you want to collaborate, have a question, or just want to chat!
XOXO
Priya
