Trying to manage my time in my new business has been the greatest struggle for me. Balancing working from home, not working too much, driving too much, getting stir crazy working in a small office, working with my spouse, feeling lonely when he isn’t there, starting at a decent hour in the morning, not taking a lunch break, taking a longer than normal lunch break, sitting and staring at all the undecorated spaces in my home that i don’t like when i should be working instead are just a few of those struggles! BUT, the rewarding parts – run your own business and call your own shots – definetly make it all work it and I’ve been having a great time. And a realize I’m good at it, so it gives me great hope for the long haul!
The last of summer is upon us and while I’m enjoying the cool nights and mornings I wish the daylight hours would cool a little more. I’m trying to take advantage of the last of the berry season by enjoying some good recipies like this one.
One of the things I have been doing this week has been designing my own font, it’s actually on my 50 before 50 list and I have been loving it! Every-Tuesday has some great tutorials that I have been going through. Like this one.
All the biggest design mistakes all in one place. Thank you Emily for your advice!
Trying to find your home’s style can be challenging. Here is a great article about it.
I was watching Chris & Julia install a fireplace in their bedroom over on Instagram stories and was so impressed that Julia was able to blog about it all in the same week. I’m not able to get things online that fast, but I think that has to do with the fact that I haven’t narrowed my focus enough. Hopefully I can do that in the near future, but at this point I am loving being so diversified. This DIY is a great weekend project though!
And, to get you through the weekend, here are some great Labor Day sale round ups.
Happy long weekend everyone!
